Sedation
Dr. Wicklund provides conscious sedation services for people who are anxious about dental work or who simply like to be more relaxed for longer procedures.
Nitrous oxide with oxygen, (laughing gas) may be utilized for patients who want to be more relaxed for dental procedures and return to work or school right after the appointment. Oral sedation, (pill based) provides even further relaxation. The third, most effective manner of sedation is by intravenous delivery of medications. IV sedation is more predictable than taking pills and safer than having general anesthesia in a hospital. IV sedation allows a person to not have memory of the dental appointment if chosen. Oral sedation pills cannot do this at typical doses.
Dr. Wicklund has completed a rigorous and well respected training program to be licensed to provide conscious sedation. He is one of only four general dentists in Kitsap County to provide this service. Children’s Dentistry
Children are always welcome here at our office. In fact, by age one, we like to have parents bring their child for an appointment to answer questions about oral health and have an examination. We strongly believe that positive experiences at an early age will help a child to a see the dental office as a comfortable and helpful place. For most all children we can be their primary dental provider. We also have strong relationships with local pediatric dentists and orthodontists to provide specialized care.
